The Ties That Bleed
It’s got action, romance, the author’s trademark snark, and vampires! THE TIES THAT BLEED is the perfect mix of Buffy and The Lost Boys, with just a little pinch of Twilight to keep things interesting.

Bestselling Author, It’s Just A Little Crush
Diana Rowan has more kills than any other vampire assassin in the FBI. Except she hasn’t staked a vamp in ten years. Now Diana’s married to a doctor and mom to eight-year-old Katie. And while she’s still with the Bureau, she spends her time in the classroom, teaching the next generation of vampire assassins how to track, stake, and decapitate bloodsuckers.
Then Ian, the fang who nearly killed her, returns from the grave. To keep her family safe, Diana has to go on the hunt once more. With time running out, she is forced to turn to another vampire for help: Gerard, who created Ian. Who was once Diana’s lover. And who’ll do anything to get her back.
If you like fast-paced action thrillers with a strong female protagonist, you’ll love this book. Yes, there are vampires in it, but the story is firmly grounded in reality with relatable characters that the vampires in the book feel natural, like of course there are vampires along with other bad people in the world that the FBI has to capture. Once I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who likes to read thrillers and mysteries, even if they don’t like vampire stories.Amazon Customer Review
ABOUT JAMI DEISE
Jami Deise writes humorous women’s fiction. Being a baseball mom for 15 years led to her first novel, KEEPING SCORE (2013), about crazy travel ball parents. Her second novel, THE TIES THAT BLEED, is about a vampire assassin for the FBI, although she personally has little experience slaying vampires. She recently optioned her horror screenplay to Navarro Pictures and her forthcoming book, HOUSE DIVIDED, is due out 11/08/2017, the first anniversary of the 2016 Presidential elections.
This is my first book by this author, but won’t be my last! I enjoy vampire fiction, but I am always looking for a twist that will interest me. This book is fast paced, and kept my attention! It reminded me of early work by Laurell Hamilton in her Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series.Amazon Customer
Of course the vampire idea has been done to death (excuse the pun), but that’s no reason to neglect a perfectly good action/mystery just because it features a few vampires. The main character, FBI agent Diana, must navigate a web of vampire informants, family secrets, and a class of naïve trainees that bring her nothing but endless trouble. The author makes good use of foreshadowing so that some revelations didn’t come as a shock at all, but these were quickly followed by others that were completely unexpected.Daniel Noe
I just finished this fast-paced vampire thriller and I’m already looking for the sequel!Holly
Though the cover would make you think “paranormal,” and the presence of vampires and vampire hunters would also point you in the direction of paranormal, I believe that The Ties that Bleed is an urban fantasy in contemporary terms, much like Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice. If you like a realistic story that just so happens to have some vampires and some otherworldly concepts, you’ll love this book.Rachel Barnard
I’m not a big vampire fan, but this book just might make me into one. The twists and turns and fast pace kept me reading until the end. It’s a great beach read!Amazon Customer
